Aaqil left a serving job in 2015 with forty dollars to his name. Over lunch that same day, a friend walked him through the basics of reselling online. He spent the next two weeks working every garage sale, estate sale and thrift store in the area, looking for the pieces other people had overlooked or undervalued. By the end of those two weeks the forty dollars had become two thousand, and he never went back.

What began as a knack for spotting value became a business. Aaqil realized the same eye, paired with the right technology and marketing, could work just as well on behalf of other families as it had for him. Secondwind was built around that idea.

He does not claim a single specialty. Around the gallery he is known as Mr. Google, because he can walk into a room and tell you within minutes which pieces deserve a closer look. That instinct, backed by research, is what turns an ordinary estate into the best possible result for the family behind it.

Kelli founded Secondwind alongside her husband Aaqil in 2019 and has had a hand in shaping every part of the business since. Today she runs the estate sales themselves along with the paperwork behind them: the contracts, the settlements, and the hundred small details that decide whether a sale feels calm or chaotic for the family living through it.

Around the gallery she is known as the resident Disney princess. Kelli specializes in Disney collectibles and knows that market inside out, and that eye has turned more than one overlooked box into a genuine find for the families we work with.

She holds two master’s degrees, one in human sexuality and one in creative writing. The writing background shows up in how she works. She is good at telling the story of a collection so the right buyers understand exactly what they are looking at.

Michael’s fascination with antiques began at age six. By thirteen he was buying and selling collectibles to earn money for Christmas gifts while his father and brother served overseas — an early venture that grew into a lifelong career.

After earning his Bachelor’s degree in History and Sociology, he briefly considered teaching before finding his calling in the auction industry. In the decades since, Michael has guided hundreds of families through the sale of thousands of items, bringing professionalism, integrity, and genuine care to every consignment.

He joined Secondwind in July 2025 to lead the company’s auction division, where he continues doing what he loves most: connecting treasured possessions with the people who will cherish them next.
